In my final blog post of 2016, I thought it was appropriate to spend a little time to recap LRA's activities in and around our sweet town of Louisville. I also want to thank those who have helped us get established in our first two years. We opened our doors for business in Old Town Louisville in March of last year, and made friends quickly with our wonderful neighbors. LRA has already created some great traditions and has enjoyed participating in community events. We were equally fortunate to grow as LRA added two licensed agents, Cory Nickerson and Kate O'Brien, who have been active closing deals to make our beloved clients very happy. I am grateful to have Tony Romano who is our office manager handle the business when we are all out meeting with folks or visiting properties. And of course, we have to mention the newest members of Team LRA: Lilly and Baxter our twin puppies who are just so darn cute!
First, I want to thank Kevin and Janet owners of Kaiser Key & Lock for being wonderful landlords, neighbors and friends. Our team also loves working with Shelley and Amy at the Louisville Chamber of Commerce, and we were thrilled to host a "Business After Hours" this past summer, an event filled with live music, margeritas and piñata fun for all who attended. We participated in the Superior Chamber of Commerce "Rooftop Drop", which allowed us to share our famous LRA lip balm with 1,000 residents of the Town of Superior (definitely pick up a free LRA lip balm at the Winter Skate on Front Street all winter long!)
Throughout the year, we loved meeting up with both old and new friends who also own small, but thriving businesses, including our Old Town neighbors, Jackie and Brent Friesth, of Bolder Insurance (and frequent guest bloggers for LRA), Patrick Walsh of Bittersweet Cafe and Por Wine House, Trent Davol of Pica's Taqueria and DeAnna Neises of Chicago Title Company. We have also been know to pick up a few closing gifts at 12 Degree Brewing and The Empire Lounge & Restaurant, which has been well received by LRA clients.
LRA was a proud new sponsor of our amazing Farmers Market, the heart and soul of Louisville from April to October every year. LRA also became the first Title Sponsor for the first annual Coal Creek Golf Course Louisville Golf Open in August, which was a great success with trophies made of vintage miners lanterns! We enjoyed the official ribbon cutting of the The Sweet Spot Cafe on the golf course, which has the *best* prime rib dinners and the best views in Louisville. We continued our support for Monarch High School's Theater, Boosters Club, Girls Golf & Volleyball teams, the AfterProm Party and the Class of 2006 Reunion! LRA was happy to support Centerstage's Tapestry Theatre and La Festa, the annual celebration of Louisville's Italian heritage. We also helped to promote the passage of Louisville's local ballot measures 2A & 2B for a new and improved recreation center in Louisville, which passed with flying colors in the last election.
Our most well attended events for 2016 were the First Friday's Art Walk in May and October, as well as the Parade of Lights in December of this year. In May, LRA hosted the art work of LMS 7th and 8th graders, taught by Ms. Lori Llerandi, which was a huge success! We had dozens of visitors coming to view the students' whimsical art, which adorned our walls. The free wine and beer for adults was a hit too!. In October we hosted the art work of local artist glass blower, August Pace, who put on live demos and showed off his gorgeous glass creations. In December, we happily served over 250 cups of hot cocoa and cookies to warm up parade goers at the Parade of Lights. We decided to increase our support this year and sponsored the Petting Zoo, which kids (pun intended!) had missed in 2015.
LRA is also a member and supporter of the Louisville Arts District, the Downtown Business Association and the Louisville History Foundation. We made appearances at the Chamber's Taste of Louisville held in June, as well as several of the DBA's Friday Night Street Faires. Cory and Kate became involved as administrators for Bradley Hughes' networking group known as the Super-Lafa-Louis and helped plan events all over town.
We plan to expand and add more licensed real estate agents to our brokerage if possible and expect our business to continue to grow in 2017. We will continue to offer top shelf, personalized expert service to our clients, helping folks to purchase and sell residential and investment properties in the Boulder and Denver metro area. As we grow, one thing will remain the same at Louisville Realty Associates: our commitment to our community in and around Louisville, as well as our continued involvement and enthusiasm to be a part of the small business community. We wish you a happy New Year and can't wait to see all the good things that 2017 will bring us all!
